  • Before you start your day trip, you might want to plan a picnic lunch as there are many beaches and parks along the way where you could have a leisurely lunch. Several businesses in town make delicious sandwiches and luncheon treats:


  • Cunha's Country Store
  • Three blocks north on Main Street, has a nice deli counter and all the other things you need.


  • Garden Deli & Cafe
  • Four blocks North on Main Street, locals think they make the best sandwiches in town.


  • New Leaf Grocery
  • On Hwy 92 at the intersection with Hwy 1 (7 blocks from the inn); natural and organic foods, great deli with all kinds of wonderful food and drinks.

Southern Route

This 48 mile drive on Pacific Coast Highway (Hwy 1) between Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz is one of the most scenic drives in California! Start your trip by heading south away from downtown on Main Street. In about ½ mile Main Street ends at Hwy 1. Turn left and you’re on your way!

Northern Route

Drive north on Hwy 1 through the many small communities that make up what we call the Coastside's. Along the way, visit the many beaches, hike in the mountains, and enjoy the diverse activities associated with our Pillar Point Harbor, with its picturesque fishing fleet. Start your trip by heading north on Main Street, through the center of town, until you come to Hwy 1 intersection (Chevron gas station). Turn right and you’re on your way!

Eastern Route

Going east on Hwy 92 takes you through an area with many nurseries and green houses. If you love plants you can spend long happy hours strolling through acres of them. Take special note of Pastorinos if you love roses (you can’t miss the beautiful rose gardens in front) or ePlant World (at the end of a row of greenhouses) if your taste runs to orchids. In Fall, Hwy 92 is lined with pumpkin farms which, in Winter, become forests of Christmas trees. Start your trip by heading north on Main Street, through the center of town, until you come to the intersection with Hwy 92 (Shell gas station). Turn right and you’re on your way!
